Target Information
The spiral-shaped bacterium Helicobacter pylori is strongly associated with inflammation of the stomach and is implicated in the development of gastric malignancy. H. pylori causes peptic ulcers and chronic gastritis in humans, is associated with duodenal ulcers, and may play a role in the development of adenocarcinoma and low-grade lymphoma of mucosa-associated lymphoid tissue (MALT) in the stomach.
This antibody stains individual H. pylori bacteria when present on the epithelial surface or in the cytoplasm of epithelial cells in biopsy tissue sections from the antrum and body of the stomach.
