Target Information
Members of the TNF superfamily regulate immune responses and induce apoptosis.
A novel member, APRIL (A Proliferation-Inducing Ligand), also known as TALL2 and TRDL 1a, has been identified in human and mouse.
Two receptors, TACI and BCMA, mediate APRIL’s biological functions, including stimulation of B and T cell proliferation, activation of NF-κB, and induction of cell death.
APRIL and its relative BlyS, along with receptors BCMA and TACI, are implicated in autoimmune and cancer-related diseases.
