• Store vial at 4°C prior to restoration. For extended storage, aliquot contents and freeze at -20°C or below.
• Avoid freeze/thaw cycles. Centrifuge product if not completely clear after standing at room temperature.
• Stable for several weeks at 4°C as an undiluted liquid. Dilute only prior to immediate use.
• This antibody is specific for swine CCL4 protein.
• BLAST analysis suggests cross-reactivity with horse and panda CCL4 (90% homology).
• Cross-reactivity with other species has not been determined.
• Swine CCL4 sequence shows 86% homology to swine CCL3L1.

Target Information

CCL4 (macrophage inflammatory protein 1-beta, MIP1B) belongs to the chemokine CC family.
It plays roles in chemotactic and proinflammatory responses, produced by macrophages upon endotoxin stimulation.
CCL4 recruits and activates inflammatory cells such as lymphocytes, macrophages, and dendritic cells.
Both CCL4 and CCL3 regulate immune responses to bacterial, viral, parasitic, and fungal pathogens.
CCL4 selectively attracts CD4+ lymphocytes, while CCL3 attracts CD8+ lymphocytes.
Both act as potent chemoattractants for B cells, eosinophils, and dendritic cells.
Processed CCL4 can down-modulate CCR5 receptor expression, inhibiting CCR5-mediated HIV-1 entry in T cells.
CCL4 binds with high affinity to CCR5 receptors.
