Target Information
FITC (fluorescein isothiocyanate) is a fluorochrome dye that absorbs ultraviolet or blue light, causing molecules to emit visible yellow-green light. This emission ceases when the excitation light is removed.
Fluorochrome labeling enables rapid and precise localization of antigen-antibody interactions in cells or tissues.
FITC is widely used in immunofluorescent techniques due to its ease of conjugation to proteins without loss of biological activity.
Anti-FITC antibodies are useful for isolating FITC-labeled cells via magnetic microbead sorting and for reducing background signal.
