Target Information
Isocitrate dehydrogenases such as IDH1 catalyze the oxidative decarboxylation of isocitrate to 2-oxoglutarate. These enzymes belong to two distinct subclasses, one utilizing NAD(+) and the other NADP(+).
Five isocitrate dehydrogenases have been reported: three NAD(+)-dependent (mitochondrial) and two NADP(+)-dependent (one mitochondrial, one cytosolic).
The NADP(+)-dependent cytosolic isozyme (encoded by IDH1) is a homodimer found in cytoplasm and peroxisomes, containing a PTS-1 peroxisomal targeting sequence.
This enzyme contributes to NADPH regeneration for peroxisomal reductions and cytoplasmic NADPH production.
This antibody is specific for IDH1 (mutant R132H).
