Product Specific Information
For reconstitution, add 100 µL distilled water to obtain a final antibody concentration of approximately 1 mg/mL.
For conjugation experiments, perform an additional desalting step using Zeba Spin Desalting Columns (7K MWCO, 0.5 mL, Product #89882).
Target Information
The ADH5 gene encodes a member of the alcohol dehydrogenase family, which metabolizes a wide range of substrates including ethanol, retinol, aliphatic alcohols, hydroxysteroids, and lipid peroxidation products.
This enzyme forms a homodimer and exhibits high activity for oxidation of long-chain primary alcohols and S-hydroxymethyl-glutathione, a formaldehyde-glutathione adduct.
It plays a key role in formaldehyde detoxification, preventing irritation and sensitization effects such as lacrymation, rhinitis, pharyngitis, and dermatitis.
The human genome also contains several non-transcribed pseudogenes related to ADH5.
