Target Information
GPR83 is a 423 amino acid protein, an orphan member of the GPCR protein family closely related to tachykinin and NPY receptors. It is a human homolog of mouse GIR protein, exclusively expressed and selectively up-regulated in the brain. GPR83 functions as a cell surface receptor with a seven-transmembrane domain and may regulate immune tolerance by inducing peripheral generation of Foxp3⁺ Treg cells.
