Target Information

Serine/arginine-rich protein 75 (SRp75) is encoded by the SRSF4 gene. SRp75 belongs to the arginine/serine-rich factor family and plays a role in alternative mRNA splicing.
SR factors contain one or more RNA recognition motifs (RRM) and an arginine/serine (RS)-rich domain. They are essential for constitutive splicing and regulate alternative splicing by influencing splice site selection.
Most SR proteins, including SC35 and SRp40, are localized in the nucleus, while SF2/ASF, SRp20, and 9G8 shuttle between the nucleus and cytoplasm, contributing to mRNA transport.
SR protein activity in regulated splicing is antagonized by hnRNP A/B family members, which induce shifts in splice site selection.
