Uniform and superparamagnetic Dynabeads™, 1 μm in diameter, with a monolayer of recombinant streptavidin covalently coupled to the surface.
Hydrophilic and negatively charged beads enable efficient isolation and downstream handling of biotinylated nucleic acids, antibodies, or other biotinylated ligands or target molecules.
The streptavidin monolayer ensures negligible leakage and consistent batch reproducibility.

Applications

Efficient capture of biotinylated molecules for direct or indirect isolation and downstream processing of nucleic acids, proteins/peptides, and other targets.
Ideal for:

• Sequence-specific DNA/RNA capture in nucleic acid-based diagnostics
• Samples with high chaotropic salt concentrations
• Immunoassays involving small biotinylated antigens
• Applications incompatible with BSA
• Immunodiagnostics with hydrophobic targets

Binding Capacity

Binding capacity depends on molecule size, biotinylation procedure, steric availability, and charge interactions.
Each streptavidin molecule on the bead surface provides two to three biotin binding sites.
Typical binding capacities (per 1 mg Dynabeads™ M-280 Streptavidin):

• 950 pmol free biotin

• ~200 pmol biotinylated peptides
• Up to 10 μg biotinylated antibody
• ~10 μg ds-DNA
• ~200 pmol ss-oligonucleotides
