Despite its predicted molecular weight, IL-34 often migrates at a higher molecular weight in SDS-PAGE.
A suggested positive control is human brain tissue lysate.
PA5-20585 can be used with blocking peptide PEP-0705.
Target Information
IL-34 is secreted as a dimeric protein and currently belongs to no known cytokine family.
It signals via the M-CSF Receptor (CSF-1R, CD115), shared with M-CSF.
Although IL-34 has no amino acid sequence homology to M-CSF, they exhibit similarities in secondary structure and overlapping functions.
IL-34 promotes myeloid survival, proliferation, and differentiation, and plays a role in osteoclast formation.
Expression is detected in various tissues, with the highest levels in the spleen.
