Target Information
CEA Cell Adhesion Molecule 6 (CEACAM6) belongs to the carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA) family, which consists of glycosyl phosphatidyl inositol (GPI)-anchored cell surface glycoproteins. Members of this family play roles in cell adhesion and are widely used as tumor markers in serum immunoassays for carcinoma detection.
CEACAM6 influences tumor cell sensitivity to adenovirus infection and acts as a receptor for adherent-invasive E. coli adhesion to ileal epithelial cells in patients with Crohn’s disease.
