The Applied Biosystems™ Human PGK1 (Phosphoglycerate Kinase 1) Endogenous Control (VIC™/TAMRA™ Probe, Primer Limited) is designed as an endogenous control for relative gene expression quantification in cDNA samples when used with other TaqMan™ Gene Expression Assays.
The probe is labeled with VIC™ dye and TAMRA™ dye, and the primers are limited. Suitable for multiplex or singleplex PCR reactions.

This endogenous control can be used with:

TaqMan™ Endogenous Controls eliminate months of assay design, formulation, and testing. These pre-designed probe and primer sets enable normalization of RNA or DNA amounts in a reaction.

TaqMan™ Endogenous Controls simplify the selection of appropriate controls for gene expression quantification across human, mouse, rat, and other eukaryotic genes.

Simple to Use

All components are QC tested and formulated into a single 20X mix, compatible with universal two-step RT-PCR conditions.
Use with TaqMan™ Universal PCR Master Mix (with or without AmpErase™ UNG) and cDNA samples for sensitive and reproducible results on Applied Biosystems instruments such as:

• 7900HT, 7300, 7500 Real-Time PCR Systems
• 7000 and 7700 Sequence Detection Systems

Flexible Offering

Endogenous controls use proven 5′ nuclease chemistry with flexible dye and quencher options:

• FAM™ dye-labeled TaqMan™ MGB probe (250 nM) + 2 unlabeled primers (900 nM each)
• VIC™ dye-labeled TaqMan™ MGB probe (250 nM) + 2 unlabeled primers (150 nM each, primer limited)
• VIC™ dye-labeled TAMRA™ probe (250 nM) + 2 unlabeled primers (150 nM each, primer limited)

Choosing the Right Endogenous Control

Endogenous controls normalize target gene expression by correcting cDNA input differences.
For best results:

• Ensure uniform expression across all samples
• For multiplexing, the control gene should be more abundantly expressed than the target gene

Multiplex vs. Singleplex PCR

TaqMan™ Endogenous Controls with VIC™ dye are primer limited, allowing multiplexing with target assays when the control gene is more highly expressed.
Controls with FAM™ dye are not primer limited and are intended for singleplex use.
