The Applied Biosystems™ Human TBP (TATA-box binding protein) Endogenous Control (VIC™/TAMRA™ Probe, Primer Limited) is designed as an endogenous control for relative gene expression quantification in cDNA samples when used with other TaqMan™ Gene Expression Assays.
The probe is labeled with VIC™ and TAMRA™ dyes, and primers are limited, enabling use in multiplex or singleplex PCR reactions.

This endogenous control is compatible with:

TaqMan™ Endogenous Controls eliminate the need for months of assay design, formulation, and testing. These pre-designed probe and primer sets allow normalization of RNA or DNA amounts in reactions for accurate gene expression quantification.

TaqMan™ Endogenous Controls simplify the selection of reliable controls for human, mouse, rat, and other eukaryotic genes, reducing trial-and-error in control choice.

Simple to Use

All components are QC tested, formulated into a single 20X mix, and functionally validated.
Compatible with universal two-step RT-PCR conditions.
Just add TaqMan™ Universal PCR Master Mix (with or without AmpErase™ UNG) and cDNA sample to generate sensitive and reproducible data on Applied Biosystems instruments such as:

• 7900HT, 7300, 7500 Real-Time PCR Systems
• 7000 and 7700 Sequence Detection Systems

Each endogenous control uses proven 5′ nuclease chemistry. Available options include:

• FAM™ dye-labeled TaqMan™ MGB probe (250 nM final) + two unlabeled primers (900 nM each)
• VIC™ dye-labeled TaqMan™ MGB probe (250 nM final) + two unlabeled primers (150 nM each, primer limited)
• VIC™ dye-labeled TAMRA™ probe (250 nM final) + two unlabeled primers (150 nM each, primer limited)

Choosing the Right Endogenous Control

Endogenous controls normalize target gene expression by correcting cDNA loading differences.
For best results:

• Verify consistent expression across all samples
• Ensure control gene expression is uniform
• For multiplexing, control gene expression should exceed target gene expression

Multiplex vs. Singleplex PCR

• VIC™-labeled controls are primer limited, allowing multiplexing with target assays.
• FAM™-labeled controls are not primer limited and are intended for singleplex use.
