For reconstitution, add 100 µL of distilled water to achieve a final antibody concentration of approximately 1 mg/mL.
For conjugation experiments, perform an additional desalting step using Zeba Spin Desalting Columns (7K MWCO, 0.5 mL, Product #89882).

Target Information

Vimentin is a developmentally regulated intermediate filament protein (IFP) found in cells of mesenchymal origin. It is involved in intracellular protein transport between the nucleus and plasma membrane. Unlike other IFPs, vimentin is co-expressed with desmin during early cell development and later replaced by tissue-specific IFPs.

Vimentin plays a role in steroid synthesis regulation by serving as a storage network for cholesterol-containing lipid droplets. Phosphorylation of vimentin by protein kinase leads to filament breakdown and cytoskeletal rearrangement, facilitating cholesterol transport to mitochondria and enhancing steroid synthesis.
