Product Specific Information
For reconstitution, add 100 µL distilled water to achieve a final antibody concentration of approximately 1 mg/mL.
For conjugation experiments using this carrier-free antibody, perform an additional desalting step (Zeba Spin Desalting Columns, 7K MWCO, 0.5 mL, Product #89882).
Target Information
GOLPH1 (also known as GCP60) is a Golgi protein that interacts with the integral membrane protein giantin and is involved in maintaining Golgi structure. It interacts with other Golgi proteins such as Golgin-160, which can be cleaved by caspases-2, -3, and -7, leading to the nuclear localization of Golgin-160.
GOLPH1’s interaction with Golgin-160 fragments is stronger than with intact Golgin-160 and is regulated by the oxidation state of Cys-463 within GOLPH1. This suggests that nuclear localization of caspase-cleaved Golgin-160 fragments is a coordinated event.
Additionally, GOLPH1 interacts with Numb, a cytosolic signaling protein mediating asymmetric cell division of neural progenitor cells, indicating that Golgi fragmentation and reconstitution during the cell cycle may regulate Numb signaling through GOLPH1 distribution and link cell fate with cell cycle progression.
