Target Information
ORAI3 is a protein-coding gene involved in calcium signaling and regulation of calcium homeostasis. It belongs to the ORAI family of proteins forming calcium release-activated calcium (CRAC) channels in the plasma membrane. These channels are activated by depletion of calcium from the endoplasmic reticulum, resulting in calcium influx into the cytoplasm. ORAI3 plays roles in T-cell activation, muscle contraction, and neurotransmitter release. Dysregulation of ORAI3 is associated with immune disorders, cancer, and cardiovascular diseases.
