This antibody recognizes a sialidase-sensitive extracellular epitope of CD45RB, a 180–240 kDa single-chain type I membrane glycoprotein, variant of CD45 (CD45RB isoform).
CD45RB is expressed on subsets of T lymphocytes, B lymphocytes, monocytes, macrophages, granulocytes, and dendritic cells.

CD45RB is a receptor-type protein tyrosine phosphatase, part of the CD45 glycoprotein family.
CD45 plays a crucial role in lymphocyte development and antigen signaling, regulating Src-family kinases and promoting cell survival via integrin-mediated signal transduction.
CD45 isoforms differ in extracellular domains but share identical transmembrane and cytoplasmic domains.
