This monoclonal antibody is highly purified and conjugated to agarose (4% cross-linked).
Supplied as 0.5 mL of settled gel in 1 mL of 50% suspension containing:
- 10 mM PBS (pH 7.0)
- 100 mM NaCl
- 0.1% Proclin
This antibody is known to show reactivity towards phosphothreonine.
Target Information
Tyrosine phosphorylation plays a critical role in mitogenic signal transduction from transmembrane receptors and in transformation by oncogene tyrosine kinases.
Phosphorylation of specific tyrosine residues is a primary mechanism of:
- Signal transduction during normal mitogenesis
- Cell cycle progression
- Oncogenic transformation
Its role in differentiation and gap junction communication remains under active investigation.
Antibodies recognizing phosphorylated tyrosine residues are essential tools for studying tyrosine-phosphorylated proteins and related biochemical pathways.
The fluorescein (FITC) conjugate of clone PY20 anti-phosphotyrosine is particularly useful for detecting P-Tyr proteins in immunohistochemical and immunocytochemical protocols, especially where secondary antibody use may complicate detection.
