Target Information
Tyrosine phosphorylation plays a critical role in signal transduction from transmembrane receptors and in oncogene tyrosine kinase-mediated transformation. It is a key mechanism in normal mitogenesis, cell cycle progression, and oncogenic transformation, and continues to be studied in differentiation and gap junction communication.
Antibodies that specifically recognize phosphorylated tyrosine residues are essential tools for studying tyrosine-phosphorylated proteins and their associated biochemical pathways.
The fluorescein (FITC) conjugate of clone PY20 anti-phosphotyrosine is particularly useful for detecting P-Tyr proteins in immunohistochemical and immunocytochemical protocols, especially when secondary antibody use may complicate detection.
