Product Specific Information
- Percent identity with other species by BLAST analysis:
Human, Gorilla, Gibbon, Monkey (100%); Marmoset (95%); Hamster, Panda (89%); Mouse, Rabbit (84%). - For IHC(P), use heat-induced antigen retrieval in pH 6.0 citrate buffer.
- After incubation with the primary antibody, slides were incubated with biotinylated secondary antibody, followed by alkaline phosphatase-streptavidin and chromogen.
Target Information
CD61 (GPIIIa, ITGB3) is a glycoprotein found on megakaryocytes, platelets, and their precursors. It plays a key role in platelet aggregation and serves as a receptor for fibrinogen, fibronectin, von Willebrand factor, and vitronectin.
CD61 (105 kDa) associates with alpha IIb integrin (CD41) or alpha V integrin (CD51) at the cell surface.
It is expressed on platelets and megakaryocytes (with CD41), and on endothelial cells, monocytes, and osteoclasts (with CD51).
CD61 participates in cell adhesion and cell-surface mediated signaling.
Dysfunction of CD61 is associated with Glanzmann Thrombasthenia and Platelet Type-16 Bleeding Disorder.
