Target Information
STING is a 379-amino-acid signaling protein that plays a key role in innate immune signaling. It activates NF-κB and IRF3 transcription pathways to induce type I interferon (IFN-α and IFN-β) expression, contributing to antiviral responses. STING is also involved in apoptotic signaling through association with MHC-II and may influence type I interferon induction. It is typically localized in the endoplasmic reticulum membrane, cell membrane, and mitochondrial outer membrane, and is ubiquitously expressed in most tissues.
