Product Specific Information
Specificity: This antibody is specific for human CD19, a 95 kDa protein expressed on the B-lymphocyte lineage.
Target Information
CD19 is a member of the immunoglobulin superfamily with two Ig-like domains. It is expressed on 100% of peripheral B cells defined by kappa or lambda light chain expression. CD19 is also found on certain myeloid leukemia cells, particularly of monocytic lineage. It is the earliest and broadest B cell–restricted antigen, serving as a key regulator of normal and malignant B cell proliferation. CD19 functions as a co-receptor with the B cell receptor (BCR), lowering the threshold for antigen-dependent activation and amplifying signaling. Mutations in CD19 can cause hypogammaglobulinemia, while overexpression leads to B cell hyperactivity.
