This product is preservative free. It is recommended to add sodium azide to avoid contamination (final concentration 0.05%–0.1%).
This antibody has specificity for Human HGF/Hepatocyte Growth Factor.

Target Information

Hepatocyte growth factor (HGF) regulates cell growth, motility, and morphogenesis by activating a tyrosine kinase signaling cascade after binding to the proto-oncogenic c-Met receptor.
It is secreted by mesenchymal cells and acts as a multifunctional cytokine on epithelial-origin cells.
HGF stimulates mitogenesis, cell motility, and matrix invasion, playing a central role in angiogenesis, tumorogenesis, and tissue regeneration.
It is secreted as a single inactive polypeptide and is cleaved by serine proteases into a 69-kDa alpha-chain and a 34-kDa beta-chain, forming an active heterodimeric molecule via a disulfide bond.
The protein belongs to the plasminogen subfamily of S1 peptidases but lacks detectable protease activity.
Alternative splicing produces multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms.
