Product Specific Information

Specificity: Reactive with the nucleoprotein (NP) of native SARS, MERS, and COVID-19 by IFA.
Non-reactive with Coronavirus strains 229E, NL63, and OC43.

Purified preparations consist of >90% pure mouse monoclonal antibody purified from ascites fluid by Protein A chromatography.
Formulated to a protein concentration of 100 µg/mL in 0.01 M phosphate buffered saline (PBS), pH 7.2, containing 0.1% sodium azide.
Each vial contains 1.0 mL.
No stabilizing proteins included; store at 4°C until use.
Working dilution should be determined by the user. Suggested ranges:

  • ICC/IF: 1:10–1:50
  • ELISA: 1:20–1:200

Target Information

The coronavirus nucleocapsid (N) is a structural protein that forms complexes with genomic RNA, interacts with the viral membrane protein during virion assembly, and enhances virus transcription and assembly efficiency.
Amino acid sequence comparisons show that coronavirus nucleocapsid proteins contain three distinct and highly conserved domains:

  1. N-terminal domain (NTD/domain 1)
  2. C-terminal domain (CTD/domain 3)
  3. Intrinsically disordered central region (RNA-binding domain/domain 2)

All three domains bind viral RNA in different coronaviruses.
