Target Information

ARHGEF11 is a 1527 amino acid protein containing tandem dbl homology and pleckstrin homology domains, a PDZ domain, two proline-rich sequences, and a regulatory G protein-signaling (RGS) sequence.
It acts as a guanine nucleotide exchange factor (GEF) for RhoA GTPase (not for RAC1 or CDC42) and as a GTPase-activating protein (GAP) for GNA12 and GNA13.
ARHGEF11 forms complexes with G proteins, mediating Rho-dependent neurite retraction signals and increasing glutamate transport fourfold.
It interacts with EAAT4, modulating uptake activity and perisynaptic distribution at glutamatergic synapses.
Overexpression induces actin cytoskeleton reorganization, membrane ruffling, and filopodia formation.
It is ubiquitously expressed in brain, lung, liver, kidney, and skeletal muscle.
