Target Information
PUF60 encodes a Ro RNP-binding protein that interacts with Ro RNPs, potentially conferring gain-of-function characteristics. It forms a ternary complex with the far upstream element (FUSE) and FUSE-binding protein, repressing a c-myc reporter via FUSE. PUF60 also targets transcription factor IIH and inhibits activated transcription. This gene is implicated in xeroderma pigmentosum disorder and has two alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms, with evidence of multiple polyadenylation sites.
