Reconstitution: Add 25 µL, 50 µL, or 0.2 mL of double distilled water (DDW), depending on sample size.
The antibody ships as a lyophilized powder at room temperature. Upon arrival, store at -20°C.
Reconstituted solution can be stored at 4°C for up to 1 week; for longer storage, aliquot and keep at -20°C.
Avoid multiple freeze/thaw cycles. Centrifuge antibody preparations before use (10,000 × g, 5 min).

Target Information

Gap junctions are specialized structures on plasma membranes of contacting cells, forming transmembrane channels that allow cell-to-cell communication. Connexins, the protein components of gap junctions, differ among tissues and are classified by molecular mass or by alpha/beta nomenclature based on sequence similarities.
For example, CX43 is an alpha-1 gap junction protein, while CX32 and CX26 are beta-1 and beta-2, respectively.
Connexins possess four transmembrane domains, three intracellular, and two extracellular regions.
Different tissues can express multiple connexins, often regulated developmentally. Connexin expression patterns also play roles in processes such as embryo implantation.
