Target Information
Cell proliferation is controlled at specific stages of the cell cycle by distinct protein kinase complexes consisting of catalytic and regulatory subunits. Cyclins (A, B, C, D, E, F, G, H, I, K, L, T) and related proteins such as Dbf4 serve as regulatory subunits. The activation of these complexes is regulated by cyclin availability, which fluctuates throughout the cell cycle.
Cyclin B3 (CCNB3 or CYCB3) is a 1,395 amino acid nuclear protein of the cyclin family, primarily expressed in testis and involved in early meiotic prophase I, playing a key role in the meiotic cell cycle. Three isoforms exist due to alternative splicing.
