Product Specific Information
MA1-91405 has been successfully used in flow cytometry and immunohistochemistry (paraffin tissue) applications.
Staining of formalin-fixed tissues requires boiling tissue sections in 10 mM citrate buffer, pH 6.0, for 10–20 minutes followed by cooling at room temperature for 20 minutes.
A suggested positive control for this product is pancreas.
Target Information
The Notch gene family encodes transmembrane proteins with variable numbers of cysteine-rich EGF-like repeats in the extracellular region.
Four Notch genes have been described in mammals: Notch1, Notch2, Notch3, and Notch4 (Int-3), which are implicated in differentiation of the nervous system and other structures.
The EGF-like proteins Delta and Serrate are identified as ligands of Notch1.
Mature Notch proteins are heterodimeric receptors derived from cleavage of Notch pre-proteins into an extracellular subunit (NEC) containing multiple EGF-like repeats and a transmembrane subunit including intracellular region (Ntm).
