It has been validated for use in Western blot, immunohistochemistry, and immunoprecipitation applications.
The immunogen corresponds to the N-terminal sequence (aa 1–19) of rat/human secretogranin II coupled to ovalbumin.
Target Information
The encoded protein belongs to the chromogranin/secretogranin family of neuroendocrine secretory proteins.
In rodents, the full-length secretogranin II is involved in packaging or sorting peptide hormones and neuropeptides into secretory vesicles.
Cleavage of the full-length protein yields active peptides such as secretoneurin (chemotactic activity) and EM66 (function unknown).
