Target Information
The human ASH2L gene encodes a 628 amino acid protein (isoform 1, ASH2L1) with a nuclear localization signal and PHD finger motif, functioning as a transcription regulator.
Predicted molecular weight: 68.7 kDa
Alternative splicing may produce isoforms at 60 kDa and 56.5 kDa.
Human ASH2L proteins share:
- 60% homology with Drosophila ash2 (developmental gene regulation)
- 90% homology with mouse ASH2L
Expression is predominant in adult heart, testis, and fetal lung/liver, with low levels in adult lung, liver, kidney, prostate, and leukocytes.
ASH2L is linked to hematopoiesis and certain leukemia types and may interact with beta-tubulin and beta-catenin.
