Immunohistochemistry (PFA fixed):

• Incubate antibody for 30 min at room temperature.
• Staining of formalin-fixed tissues requires heating tissue sections in 10 mM Tris with 1 mM EDTA, pH 9.0, for 45 min at 95°C, followed by cooling at room temperature for 20 min.

Target Information

This gene encodes a member of the protein family comprised of both platelet-derived growth factors (PDGF) and vascular endothelial growth factors (VEGF). The encoded preproprotein is processed to generate platelet-derived growth factor subunit B, which can form homodimers or heterodimers with PDGF subunit A. These proteins activate PDGF receptor tyrosine kinases and are involved in developmental processes.
Mutations in this gene are associated with meningioma. Reciprocal translocations between chromosomes 22 and 17 are linked to dermatofibrosarcoma protuberans, a rare skin tumor.
Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants.
