Product Specific Information
The B20.6 monoclonal antibody reacts with the mouse T-cell receptor (TCR) V beta 2 chain.
Neonatal T cells expressing V beta 2 and exposed to the Balb/cV virus are eliminated during negative selection, while adult T cells expressing V beta 2 and exposed to the same virus are clonally expanded.
Applications Reported: Flow cytometric analysis
Applications Tested: Tested by flow cytometric analysis of lymph node cells. Recommended ≤1 µg per test.
A test is defined as the amount of antibody that stains a cell sample in 100 µL final volume. Cell number may range from 10^5 to 10^8 cells/test.
Careful titration is advised for optimal assay performance.
Fluorescence Properties:
- Excitation: 488 nm
- Emission: 520 nm
- Laser: Blue Laser
- Filtration: 0.2 µm post-manufacturing filtered
Target Information
T cell receptors (TCR) discriminate foreign from self-peptides presented by MHC class II molecules, critical for adaptive immune response.
Recognition of self-peptides is linked to autoimmune diseases, and mutant self-peptides are associated with tumors.
Superantigen engagement of TCRs can cause toxic shock syndrome.
Autoantibodies to V beta segments have been found in rheumatoid arthritis (RA) and systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), potentially modulating inflammatory reactions.
Most human T cells express TCR alpha-beta and either CD4 or CD8 (single positive).
A small fraction lacks both (double negative), and increased alpha-beta DN T cells are observed in autoimmune and immunodeficiency disorders.
Gamma-delta T cells, mainly in epithelium, exhibit less diversity and distinct antigen recognition, with subsets showing antitumor and immunoregulatory activity.
For Research Use Only. Not for use in diagnostic procedures. Not for resale without express authorization.
