Product Specific Information
The antibody was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by affinity chromatography using epitope-specific immunogen. The purity is greater than 95% as determined by SDS-PAGE.
Target Information
S100A12 is a member of the S100 family of proteins containing two EF-hand calcium-binding motifs. These proteins are localized in the cytoplasm and/or nucleus of various cell types and are involved in regulating cellular processes such as cell cycle progression and differentiation.
S100A12 participates in calcium-dependent signal transduction pathways and regulates cytoskeletal components, influencing neutrophil activities. It acts as a ligand for RAGE, triggering activation in mononuclear phagocytes, lymphocytes, and endothelial cells. Activation of NF-κB by S100A12/RAGE plays a key role in inflammatory responses. S100A12 also exhibits antimicrobial properties.
