Target Information
BST2 (CD317, HM1.24 antigen, DAMP-2, tetherin)는 B세포의 발달 및 성장에 관여하는 막 단백질입니다. BST2는 B세포 발달 과정 전반에서 높은 수준으로 발현되며, T세포, 단핵구, NK세포, 수지상세포 및 골수종 세포에서도 단백질 수준에서 발현됩니다.
연구에 따르면 BST2는 인간 세포에서 레트로바이러스 방출을 억제하며, HIV-1의 부속 단백질 Vpu에 의해 길항됩니다. BST2의 결핍은 Vpu가 바이러스 방출에 필요하지 않게 하는 효과를 나타내며, 이는 HIV/AIDS 치료를 위한 잠재적 전략으로 연구되고 있습니다.
BST2 기능 이상은 구내염(stomatitis)과도 관련이 있습니다.
