Product Specific Information

This antibody reacts with the native form of human HLA-G1 on the cell surface as well as with soluble HLA-G5 isoform in its beta2-microglobulin associated form. Reactivity with HLA-G3 was also reported. It will not cross-react with mouse.


Target Information

HLA-G belongs to the HLA class I heavy chain paralogues. This class I molecule is a heterodimer consisting of a heavy chain and a light chain (beta-2 microglobulin).
The heavy chain is anchored in the membrane and expressed on fetal-derived placental cells.
The heavy chain is approximately 45 kDa and its gene contains 8 exons:

  1. Exon 1: leader peptide
  2. Exons 2–3: alpha1 and alpha2 domains (peptide binding)
  3. Exon 4: alpha3 domain
  4. Exon 5: transmembrane region
  5. Exon 6: cytoplasmic tail

HLA and MHC antibodies play a significant role in Immunopeptidomics, facilitating the identification and characterization of neoantigens through high-performance liquid chromatography coupled to tandem mass spectrometry.
