Target Information
The protein encoded by this gene catalyzes the conversion of sulfated steroid precursors to estrogens during pregnancy. It is localized in the endoplasmic reticulum and functions as a homodimer. Mutations in this gene can cause X-linked ichthyosis (XLI).
