Target Information
SPT16 and SSRP1 are found in all eukaryotic cells and exist as part of an essential heterodimer complex. Together, SPT16 and SSRP1 form the highly abundant nuclear complex known as FACT (Facilitates Chromatin Transcription). FACT enhances the processivity of RNA polymerase II through nucleosomes and may also play a role in DNA replication by facilitating DNA polymerase movement through nucleosomes.
