Product Specific Information
The antibody was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by affinity chromatography using an epitope-specific immunogen. The purity is greater than 95% as determined by SDS-PAGE.
Target Information
tPA (Tissue Plasminogen Activator) converts the inactive zymogen plasminogen to plasmin by hydrolyzing a single Arg-Val bond. By regulating plasmin-mediated proteolysis, tPA plays a critical role in tissue remodeling, cell migration, and various physiological and pathological processes.
It consists of a heterodimer of chain A and chain B linked by a disulfide bond and binds fibrin with high affinity, enhancing catalytic efficiency by 100–1000 fold.
tPA also interacts with heparin, laminin, fibronectin, mannose receptor, and LRP1, which are involved in clearance and regulation. Binding to annexin II and cytokeratin 8 has been observed, and interactions with endothelial and vascular smooth muscle cells can significantly stimulate plasminogen activation.
