Target Information
CD45 (also known as LCA, leukocyte common antigen) is a receptor-type protein tyrosine phosphatase (PTP) expressed in all nucleated hematopoietic cells, comprising about 10% of lymphocyte surface proteins. It is absent from non-hematopoietic tissues and cell lines. CD45 plays a key role in lymphocyte development and antigen signaling by regulating Src-family kinases. Multiple isoforms exist due to alternative splicing, differing in extracellular domains but sharing identical transmembrane and cytoplasmic regions. CD45RA is one such isoform with restricted expression among lymphoid cell subtypes. CD45 regulates T- and B-cell receptor signaling, modulates cytokine receptor pathways, and influences integrin-mediated signaling, apoptosis, and other immune functions.
