Product Specific Information

The MEL-14 monoclonal antibody reacts with mouse CD62L, a 76 kDa member of the selectin family. CD62L is expressed by neutrophils, monocytes, and subsets of T, B, and NK cells, and binds glycosylated, fucosylated, sulfated sialylated glycoproteins such as CD34, GlyCAM-1, and MAdCAM-1. These interactions mediate lymphocyte rolling on activated endothelium and homing to high endothelial venules (HEV) of peripheral lymphoid tissues.

Applications Reported: Flow cytometric analysis.
Applications Tested: Tested on mouse splenocytes at ≤0.125 µg/test. One test is defined as the amount of antibody that stains a cell sample in 100 µL volume. Recommended to titrate for optimal performance.

Brilliant Violet™ 421 emits at 423 nm and is optimized for cytometers equipped with a violet (405 nm) laser. Ensure instrument compatibility.

When using multiple polymer dye-conjugated antibodies (Super Bright™, Brilliant Violet™, Brilliant Ultra Violet™), use Super Bright Complete Staining Buffer (Product # SB-4401-42) or Brilliant Stain Buffer™ (Product # 00-4409-75) to minimize non-specific polymer interactions.

Target Information

Human CD62L (L-Selectin) is a 74–95 kDa glycoprotein adhesion receptor with:

  • C-type lectin binding domain
  • EGF-like domain
  • Two short consensus repeat (SCR) sequences
  • Transmembrane and short cytoplasmic regions

CD62L is expressed on most leukocytes including lymphocytes (except certain memory T cells), monocytes, and polymorphonuclear cells.
