MAP2K1(MEK1) kinase는 mitogen-activated protein kinase(MAPK) 신호전달 경로에서 세포 성장 및 분화를 조절하는 dual-specificity protein kinase입니다.
MAP2K1은 다양한 성장 인자와 사이토카인, 막 탈분극 및 칼슘 유입에 의해 활성화되며, Raf1에 의해 Ser218 및 Ser222 잔기의 인산화로 활성화됩니다.
이 단백질은 스트레스 반응, 세포자멸사(apoptosis), 사이토카인에 의한 증식 신호에 관여하며, 유전자 변이는 cardiofaciocutaneous 증후군을 유발할 수 있습니다.
