PDGFRB (CD140b)는 receptor tyrosine kinase로서, atherogenesis 및 SIS oncogene에 의한 세포 변형에 관여합니다. 이 성장 인자는 중간엽 기원의 세포에 대한 mitogen으로 작용하며, 결합된 성장 인자의 종류에 따라 homodimer 또는 heterodimer를 형성합니다. PDGFRB 유전자는 염색체 5에서 GM-CSF 및 M-CSF receptor 유전자 사이에 위치하며, 5-q 증후군과 관련될 수 있습니다. 또한, 염색체 5와 12 사이의 전좌로 인해 PDGFRB가 ETV6 leukemia gene과 융합되면, 호산구증을 동반한 만성 골수증식성 질환이 발생합니다.
