For reconstitution, add 100 µL distilled water to achieve a final antibody concentration of approximately 1 mg/mL.
For conjugation experiments, perform an additional desalting step (recommended: Zeba Spin Desalting Columns, 7K MWCO, 0.5 mL, Product #89882).

Target Information

The FAM131C gene encodes a member of the superoxide dismutase (SOD) protein family.
SODs are antioxidant enzymes that catalyze the conversion of superoxide radicals into hydrogen peroxide and oxygen, protecting tissues from oxidative stress.
Proteolytic processing of the encoded protein forms two distinct homotetramers with different affinities for the extracellular matrix (ECM):

• Type C subunit: intact protein, high affinity for heparin, ECM-anchored
• Type A subunit: cleaved form, low affinity for heparin, not ECM-bound

Mutations in this gene may be linked to increased heart disease risk.
