Product Specific Information

For reconstitution, add 100 µL distilled water to obtain a final antibody concentration of approximately 1 mg/mL.
For conjugation experiments, perform an additional desalting step (Zeba Spin Desalting Columns, 7K MWCO, 0.5 mL, Product #89882).


Target Information

CD40 is a single-chain glycoprotein belonging to the tumor necrosis factor/nerve growth factor superfamily. It is expressed on all B cells except plasma cells and also found on epithelial cells, carcinomas, and lymphoid dendritic cells.
CD40 plays a key role in immune and inflammatory responses, including T cell-dependent immunoglobulin class switching, memory B cell development, and germinal center formation.
Regulation of CD40 expression by AT-hook transcription factor AKNA is important for homotypic cell interactions.
Adaptor protein TNFR2 mediates CD40 signal transduction.
The CD40–CD40 ligand interaction is crucial for amyloid-beta-induced microglial activation, an early event in Alzheimer’s disease pathogenesis.
Two alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms have been reported.
Diseases associated with CD40 dysfunction include Type 3 Hyper-IgM immunodeficiency and CD40 ligand deficiency.
