Product Specific Information

For reconstitution, add 100 µL distilled water to achieve a final antibody concentration of approximately 1 mg/mL.
For conjugation experiments, perform an additional desalting step using Zeba Spin Desalting Columns (7K MWCO, 0.5 mL, Product #89882).


Target Information

CD40 antigen is a single-chain glycoprotein belonging to the tumor necrosis factor/nerve growth factor superfamily. It is expressed on all B cells except plasma cells, and also found on epithelial cells, carcinomas, and lymphoid dendritic cells.
CD40 plays a critical role in immune and inflammatory responses such as T cell-dependent immunoglobulin class switching, memory B cell development, and germinal center formation.
AKNA transcription factor regulates CD40 expression, and TNFR2 adaptor protein mediates CD40 signal transduction.
CD40-CD40L interaction is essential for amyloid-beta-induced microglial activation, implicated in early Alzheimer disease pathogenesis.
Two alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms have been reported.
Diseases associated with CD40 dysfunction include Type 3 Hyper-IgM immunodeficiency and CD40 ligand deficiency.
