HLA-DPB는 HLA class II beta chain paralogues에 속하며, alpha (DPA)와 beta (DPB) 체인으로 구성된 이형이합체입니다. 이 분자는 세포 외 단백질에서 유래한 펩타이드를 제시함으로써 면역 시스템에서 중심적인 역할을 합니다.
Class II 분자는 항원제시세포(APC: B lymphocytes, dendritic cells, macrophages)에서 발현되며, beta chain은 약 26–28 kDa 크기이고 6개의 exon을 포함합니다.
