Target Information
MET (c-Met) is a receptor-like tyrosine kinase whose dysregulation has been linked to many types of human malignancies. After ligand activation, MET interacts with PI3-kinase subunit PIK3R1, PLCG1, SRC, GRB2, and STAT3, leading to activation of signaling cascades such as RAS-ERK, PI3K-AKT, and PLCγ-PKC.
MET plays roles in embryonic development (gastrulation, muscle and neuron development, angiogenesis, kidney formation) and adult processes (wound healing, organ regeneration, tissue remodeling).
Its dysregulation is associated with cancers including gastric, renal, and breast, making it a key target for cancer therapeutics and diagnostic testing.
