Target Information
MAPK8IP1 유전자는 췌장 베타세포 기능의 조절 인자로 알려져 있으며, JIP-1과 높은 유사성을 가집니다. 이 단백질은 MAPK8에 의해 매개되는 전사 인자 활성화를 억제하고, IL-1β 및 MEKK1에 의해 유도되는 베타세포의 아폽토시스를 감소시킵니다. 또한 GLUT2의 DNA 결합 전사 활성 인자로 작용하며, REST 단백질에 의해 발현이 억제됩니다. 일부 제2형 당뇨병 가족에서 변이가 발견되어, 당뇨병 감수성 유전자로 추정됩니다.
