Target Information
Arginine methylation is an irreversible post-translational modification involved in RNA processing, trafficking, receptor-mediated signaling, and transcription. At least three types of PRMT enzymes have been identified in mammalian cells, playing essential regulatory roles through methylation of key proteins in fundamental processes such as cell cycle regulation, signal transduction, apoptosis, and viral protein modification. The mammalian PRMT family consists of seven members sharing two large homologous domains, with antibodies developed against each member.
